Airfoil Radio Isotope

The Radio Isotope Hood features a stainless steel lining and work surface with coved corners that facilitate thorough cleaning and a reinforced countertop to support lead bricks. These features will help to insure operator safety and convenience in procedures that involve the use and handling of radioactive materials. The Radio Isotope Hood comes equipped with a type 304 stainless steel sash frame with a full width flush pull. The interior lining is also type 304 stainless steel. All seams are welded and ground smooth to eliminate the build-up of radioactive materials. The work surface, which is constructed of the same materials, is welded to the lining, making the liner and work surface integral and water tight. In addition, the work surface is reinforced to support 200 lbs. per square foot up to a total weight of 1,000 lbs. per Hood or base cabinet section.

Hood Features

  • Full view sash has laminated safety glass, full width flush pull, and counterweight for one finger operation.
  • Inward angled frame minimizes turbulence resulting in a more efficient operation.
  • Double wall construction of the hood superstructure allows for easy installation of service fixtures and routing of interior plumbing and electrical lines.
  • Removable exterior side panels and removable panels on both interior sides allow easy access to service fixtures and supply lines.
  • A maximum width, two tube fluorescent light fixture is mounted above a sealed safety glass panel.
